Andres Garcia

Andres Garcia was born in Caracas, Venezuela where he lived most of his life. He attended the Simon Bolivar University there, majoring in Chemical Engineering. Meanwhile, he also did an Advanced Management Program in the Institute of Superior Administrative Studies.

At an early age, Mr. Garcia showed a lot of interest in sports, excelling in swimming and equitation, for which he participated in several international events.

At the age of 27, Mr. Garcia founded a recycling company in Venezuela of solid and liquid wastes, which within 10 years grew exponentially, reaching sales of over 40 million dollars yearly. Around the same time, he also showed interest for the food industry, and successfully structured the takeover and conversion of the Tropibuger brand into the Wendy’s brand.

Later on, Mr. Garcia ended up developing a chain of 54 restaurants within a 4 year span, becoming the largest Wendy’s franchise in Latin America. He was also awarded the Best International Franchisee three times, and received the Founder Award, being the highest award given within the system, and was the first International Franchisee to receive this award.

Mr. Garcia continued his international operations in the food industry by opening 11 new Wendy’s restaurants in Mexico within 2 years, leading to his award as the International Franchise Group of the Year in 2001 by Carlson Restaurants Worldwide. Furthermore, he received the Karl Davis Award in 2004, which is the maximum award presented by Carlson Restaurants Worldwide.

Additionally, he continued his work in Venezuela and developed a Friday’s Franchise of 10 restaurants. Around the same time, he partnered with Jhonny Mercado and developed MIGA’S, a Venezuelan franchise of 11 restaurants.

In 2007, he founded, became a board member, and CEO of JA International Investment, becoming a franchisee of 178 Wendy’s in Florida, New Mexico, and El Paso, Texas. It’s projected to have 300 restaurants by the end of 2020. Additionally, Mr. Garcia founded and became a board member of CB Restaurants Holdings LLC in 2011, becoming a franchisee of 5 Corner Bakery Café’s in Florida.
